Owl Drugs

Hello and come in. And please, lose the pants.

We are a quartet of musicians. We may or may not also be writers, sound engineers, graphic designers, hair-dressers, or undertakers. Listen, don't get bogged down with the details - all you need to remember is "4". That is, there are four of us. Oh... and we "write" "songs". Okay, we compose and perform an art-damaged form of music that will certainly be tagged post or prog-something-or-other, or described as quirky (or, God forbid, "mature"). Assuredly friends, Owl Drugs is proud to be a rock and roll band without pretense or distraction.

Since our formation in early 2007 we have been putting on some rather exhilarating live shows. At the very least the shows have been quite exhilarating for us. We've also recently released Heathens, our debut recording. And if you love your God, please... don't listen to it.

Each member of this rag-tag band of heretics has an extensive musical history...

Guitarist
Marty Rollins (Closed Caption Radio, The Red Light Sting) and former bass guitarist Steve Elliott (Donkey Engine) have lengthy creative resumes, but it was their work together in The Approach that is most closely linked to the origins of Owl Drugs. Upon the demise of The Approach at the close of 2006, the two quickly looked to reform anew and recruited past collaborators drummer
Paul Patko (d.b.s., The Red Light Sting) and vocalist
Ryan Scott (Sparkmarker, Deadsure) to create challenging, yet genuinely engaging, rock music under the banner of Owl Drugs. New bassist
Sarah Jane Truman (The Doers, Skort) has recently infused the band with a thrilling new current that is dare-devilling the band into an even more hazardous territory.

We'll see you out there. Pack a diaper.

File under: Progressive post-punk auntsy-fauntsy shit-stirring math-tango. You know, what all the kids are digging.

Lakefield

Five people met on the West Coast to form Lakefield; the sound of Cinematic-meets-Epic-meets-Indie-Pop. We're pretty happy with this totally-not-solicited description: "…it's like deathcab meets stars, eh?" – David Ritter, http://www.cokemachineglow.com/staff/1394/davidritter-staffpage. Yeah… what he said.
